Central Otago, New Zealand is a region that is frequently painted and photographed. I want to share my feelings about the landscape and look beyond the traditional (but very beautiful) art.
In “Valleys and Gullies” I wanted to draw attention to the ridge lines that are so striking on our mountains. Each strip has been lifted from a larger image and chosen for the number of ridges and colour. I have framed this image in a plain white frame with a large border around the image. This is a complex print and I wanted to give it plenty of “breathing space”.
This limited edition print is printed on beautiful cotton rag paper using archival inks. I was really pleased when this very creative interpretation of a landscape won a coveted gold award at the 2016 NZ Institute of Professional Photographers Iris Awards and a silver distinction award at the 2016 Australian APPA awards.
