This small irrigation pond at Lower Gimmerburn, not far from my home in the Maniototo, offered something different on a foggy morning.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe trees stood quietly along the water's edge, their reflections reaching down into the still surface. Fog softened the hills and muted the colours, leaving little more than the gentle rhythm of the trunks, the water and the land beyond.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI was drawn to the simplicity of the scene, and to the sense of calm that came from standing there. Nothing dramatic was happening.
