Landscape Parquet
May 07, 2021
This composite photograph was inspired by patchwork, weaving and parquet flooring is one part of a diptych called Parquet I and II.
The miniature elements to this piece are images of scree slopes and mountains photographed during the decent from the Hawkdun Mountains to Home Hills Run. The use of light and shadow has created a three dimensional effect that I often enjoy using in my creative images.
Filling the entire frame with brown tones brings a substantial, solid, strong and reliable feel to the image - in my mind these are important characteristics of the Central Otago landscape.
This image won a silver award at the 2016 NZ Institute of Professional Photographers Iris Awards. To view or purchase the complete diptych click here.
