Janyne edits, prints and frames all of her own work and she regards this process of “playing” with different media, mounts and framing as an integral part of her creative process. 

Printing

Janyne is an award winning printer of photographs and prints all of her own work to a very standard.  She uses a professional grade wide format Canon Printer using archival quality light fast pigment inks.  All of her prints are made on archival quality professional papers which comes in a variety finishes such as mat cotton rag, smooth pearl or even metallic.  Janyne is an Ilford Master and uses their high quality papers - learn more here.

Frames

Our frames are all hand made in our Ranfurly workshop and gallery from local and imported timber.  Janyne selects the simple, elegant frames that complement her work.  If you have something a little different in mind for your home, just let her know.*  Alternatively an unframed print may work for you to take to your own framer or send overseas.

Mat Board and Mounting

Mat board sits just below the glazing and on top of the photograph itself. Not only does mat board separate the artwork from the glass by providing a barrier to protect and preserve it, it also provides an aesthetically pleasing border. Our mat boards are most commonly in shades of white or cream.

Mount board serves to protect a framed photograph by providing a rigid, sturdy backing to keep photographs from moving or warping in the frame. The artwork is attached to the mount board, which is against the back of the frame, with hinging tape or other adhesives.

Glass

All of Janyne's framed work is glazed.  Framed limited edition prints include Tru Vue 99% UV Proof Conservation glass or Tru Vue Non Reflect UV70 glass.  Framed open edition work is glazed in standard picture framing glass.  We do have alternative glass available including non reflect options.*
