Behind the Gates  - This artwork captures the very delicate balance between the industrial and natural worlds. There is a tension between nature’s chaotic beauty and the order imposed by human intervention.  Yet, rather than standing in opposition, the two elements seem to coexist, creating a sense of harmony within the contrast. Every individual link is unique, almost as if it tells its own story, emphasising the idea that even in man-made structures, there is a sense of organic individuality. This piece invites the viewer to reconsider the boundaries we place between industry and nature, recognizing that both can have beauty and purpose.

This image won a silver distinction award and was part of Janyne’s portfolio as a finalist for Creative Photographer of the Year at the 2024 NZIPP Iris Photography Awards.
