Limited Edition Framed Print - Spring Snow, Fading Fences

Spring Snow, Fading Fences was photographed during a heavy spring snowfall in the Maniototo. The dark line of the stream leads the eye through the landscape toward the faint outline of fences disappearing into white. What struck me most was the quietness - how the land seemed to pause as the last of winter briefly returned.

I was drawn to the simplicity of this scene and the way strong shapes softened under snow. It’s about those in-between moments, when familiar lines and edges fade, and the landscape takes on a gentler rhythm of its own.

Photographed by award winning photographer, Janyne Fletcher GMNZIPP. This image won a silver distinction award at the 2025 Iris Photography Awards run by the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography.
